Accreditation Support
As a part of the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA), by January 1, 2012, all nonhospital providers of advanced diagnostic imaging, inclusive of Nuclear Medicine, SPECT, PET, PET/CT, CT and MR, must obtain accreditation as a condition for reimbursement.
GPS provides support to facilities pursuing Accreditation and Ongoing Quality Control for all imaging modalities. Our services are performed in full compliance with requirements of:
- American College of Radiology (ACR)
- Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Labs (ICANL)
- Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computed Tomography Laboratories (ICACTL)
ACR
For those pursuing ACR accreditation, we can assist with mammography, stereotactic, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, PET, and PET/CT accreditations. Support includes phantom scanning and assistance throughout the accreditation process. We have extensive experience in acquiring phantom images for these modalities and we are confident enough to make this commitment: If your accreditation fails due to the phantom images we have obtained and approved for submission, we will pay your re- submission fees.
ICANL & ICACTL
GPS can assist those pursuing ICANL & ICACTL accreditation as well. These procedures are largely driven by establishing protocols and procedures as well as QC. Physicist involvement is limited, but GPSstands ready to provide assistance in protocols, procedures, and QC on an "as needed basis", normally billed hourly.
